Families with children pay more attention to environmental protection

Hungarian families are well aware of the problems threatening our environment and are willing to act for environmental protection for the future of their children, according to a representative survey of the Mária Kopp Institute for Demography and Families (KINCS) published on the occasion of Earth Day.
According to preliminary data, in January 2020, there were 9.4% more children born than in the first month of the previous year. The number of deaths decreased significantly, by 17% compared to January 2019. As a result, in the first month of 2020, the population decline of 3,486 people was 47% lower than a year earlier.

MEP György Hölvényi co-hosted a youth conference with the National Association of Large Families in the European Parliament on youth transition, in particular on issues related to the transition from education to the labor market, housing and family formation.
KINCS President Tünde Fűrész met Raul Sanchez, Secretary General of European Large Families Confederation (ELFAC) in Barcelona. They discussed the details of a joint research of large families in Europe.
