Hungarians are concerned about the demographic situation of our country

The demographic situation of Hungary, the demographic issues are of great concern to the majority of Hungarians. In connection with the fourth Budapest Demographic Summit, the Mária Kopp Institute for Demography and Families (KINCS) conducted a survey to find out how well Hungarians know the demographic processes of the country. Hungarians - among them mostly families with children - are aware that the desire to marry and have children has increased in the recent years.

The fourth Budapest Demographic Summit: family is the key to sustainability

September 23-24, 2021

Every two years since 2015, the Budapest Demographic Summit is the international forum where politicians, church leaders, experts, representatives of the media, civil society, the corporate sector as well as the academia discuss current key issues affecting families. In 2021, the fourth Demographic Summit was held on September 23-24 at the Castle Garden Bazaar in Budapest. The international conference was attended by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, Minister for Families Katalin Novák, former US Vice President Mike Pence and leaders of several European countries. Tünde Fűrész President of the Mária Kopp Institute for Demography and Families (KINCS) also took part in the conference and Prof. Dr. Petra Aczél moderated a panel discussion on the topic of demography and sustainability. On the second day of the event, Balázs Molnár Vice-President of KINCS moderated a panel discussion entitled “Beyond the State”.

Memorandum of Understanding was concluded between the International University of Catalonia (UIC Barcelona) and the Mária Kopp Institute

The Institute for Advanced Family Studies of the International University of Catalonia (Universitat Internacional de Catalunya, UIC Barcelona) and the Mária Kopp Institute for Demography and Families (KINCS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The aim of the MoU is carrying out knowledge exchange, joint scientific research activities - in particular about families, demography, and the education of family life, joint publications and creation of joint education materials, providing mutual publication possibilities as well as organizing joint expert’s meetings and scientific conferences.

More and more people are taking advantage of home renovation support

Nine out of ten people have heard of a home renovation subsidy, and 86 percent have also heard of a home renovation loan. The respondents are not only aware of the subsidies, but also use them - according to a representative survey of the Mária Kopp Institute for Demography and Families and Families (KINCS), which was conducted in August by interviewing 1,000 people. Nearly 33,000 people have applied for home renovation support so far, and more than 7,500 families have also asked for a home renovation loan.

Hungarians are proud of being Hungarian

Eight out of ten Hungarians are proud of being Hungarian, and 85 percent of them have a strong national identity, according to a survey done by the Mária Kopp Institute for Population and Families (KINCS). The representative research conducted with the involvement of 1,000 people also revealed that Hungarians are primarily proud of the success of our country, their national identity is stronger than their European one.
