More children - a more secure future

Hungarians see the future in the family, in the children, and they think that if more children were born in Hungary, this would be a solution not only to the population issues, but also to environmental issues - reveals the press release of the Mária Kopp Institute for Demography and Families (KINCS) published on the occasion of World Population Day. The research outcomes of KINCS reveal that those who raise more children are more responsible towards shaping the future, and thus in preserving our natural values. For most, family-friendly governance provides stable and predictable support to improve the demographical situation.

Hungarians have a good relationship with their father

A representative survey by KINCS found that Hungarian people whose father lives have a good relationship with him: nearly two-thirds talk to their father almost every day, and 14 percent said their relationship has become closer since the start of the coronavirus epidemic. 72 percent of Hungarians share their joys with him, and nearly 50 percent of them also share with him their sorrows. Father’s Day isn’t a well-known holiday yet, with less than a third of respondents aware that we celebrate fathers on the third Sunday in June.

The majority of Hungarians agree with government measures to restart life

In Hungary, 80 percent of the adult population agrees with the government's restart measures. Most (92 percent) support the decision to resume scheduled health interventions, according to a 1,000-person, representative survey by the Mária Kopp Institute for Demography and Families (KINCS), made between May 20-23. The change related to the interoperability of SZÉP card sub-accounts (fringe benefit) was also very popular, and the reopening of schools and the authorization of leisure activities linked to the immunity card were also a good decision, according to the majority of respondents.

The relationship of Hungarians with their mother is intimate

The majority of Hungarians treat their mother with great respect, love and attention. Most Hungarians (91%) say they have a particularly good and close relationship with their mother, four-fifths talk to her almost every day and the majority (96%) honors her on the first Sunday in May - according to the Mother's Day survey by the Mária Kopp Institute for Demography and Families (KINCS). According to 79 percent of Hungarians, mothers are being recognized in Hungary.
