The cooperation network of KINCS has expanded with a new partner

In order to strengthen scientific relations, the Batthyány Circle of Professors and the Mária Kopp Institute for Demography and Families (KINCS) signed a cooperation agreement on International Day of Families. In her welcoming speech at the event, Tünde Fűrész, president of KINCS, emphasized that KINCS, as a family research institute, takes a comprehensive approach to the study of families, in line with the provisions of the Fundamental Law and our law on the protection of families. It is therefore of great importance that our Institute is able to expand its relations in this spirit with a scientific community that seeks to connect the academic world and political decision-making and supports, rather than attacking the national policy that focuses on families.

In his ceremonial address, Dr. Attila Beneda recalled that in 2010, the government set out to build a society based on families and work, and that the aim of establishing KINCS was to provide a solid scientific foundation for family policy decisions. The Deputy State Secretary for Family Affairs emphasized that over the past 15 years, the government has supported families with new measures every year. Now, the largest family tax reduction program ever is being launched, which will result in one million mothers becoming tax-exempt, thereby eliminating the wage gap between men and women and strengthening the appreciation of women.

Prof. Dr. Lajos Kollár presented the community's activities and objectives, which are based on maintaining economic stability, involving younger professionals, and strengthening professional cooperation. The president of the Batthyány Circle of Professors emphasized that one of the most prominent of the organization's numerous working groups is the Family and Population Working Group, which is now headed by Prof. Dr. Ágnes Engler, Head of the KINCS Educational Research Center. Regarding the aim of the new cooperation, he emphasized that they consider it important to expand joint research activities and promote family affairs at the societal level.

Dr. Csaba Attila Szabó emphasized that, like the founders of the Batthyány Circle of Professors, the fundamental objective of their workshops and working groups is to form opinions on important social, political, and public issues and to assist political decision-makers with recommendations. The secretary of the organization expressed his conviction that the cooperation agreement signed with KINCS will be fruitful and that the parties will be able to cooperate effectively in the implementation of various events and projects.

Prof. Dr. Ágnes Engler said it was important for members of the scientific community to share their findings with society. An excellent example of this is the namesake of our institute, Professor Mária Kopp, who sought to put her wide-ranging scientific achievements to practical use in society. The head of the KINCS Educational Research Center pointed out that higher education is a key area of scientific life, which is why KINCS first signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Debrecen, followed by six other Hungarian higher education institutions, and its international scientific relations are also constantly expanding.
