The KINCS Research Center of Education Sciences was established at the University of Debrecen

The cooperation agreement on the establishment of the institution was signed by the representatives of the Ministry of Human Resources (EMMI), the Institute and the University on Wednesday in the framework of a scientific conference.

Dr. Attila Beneda, Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Human Capacitites responsible for family policy, called the establishment of this institutional relationship between the family policy background institute of the Ministry and the “family-friendly” University of Debrecen unique. "There are few or no such sublime ideas as helping families," he said, and expressed his conviction that the work of the Research Center would also contribute to the implementation of the government's family policy, the two pillars of which are the work-based society and the fact that "the strong fabric of the growing families takes the nation forward".

According to the Deputy State Secretary, the current government is the first government to "deal with the vital questions of the Hungarians upon its merits", including the situation of families.

Dr. Attila Beneda recalled that family policy measures that have been implemented since 2010 are expanding with new branches year by year, this year with the Family Protection Action Plan. International interest shows that "other countries are amazed by what a small country can do for families," he added.
According to Dr. Elek Bartha, Deputy Rector for Education of the Debrecen University, the new educational research center contributes to the rapid transfer of family research results to educational curriculum.

Prof. Dr. Zoltán Bács, Chancellor of the University emphasized that people are at the center of every segment of university work - education, research, economics, care - and the role of families is essential in this.

Tünde Fűrész, President of KINCS, quoted besides others Professor Mária Kopp, after whom our Institute has been named: "Let all children wished for be born!" and said that our Institute assists family policy and demography in a policy-based way, the intergral part of which is the support of raising children is a responsible manner. There are regular KINCS Evenings being held, which provide a meeting place for the interested audience. In April, an international conference will be held with the title “Shift towards a Family Friendly Europe”, and in July, the Scientific Council for Family and Population Science will be established.

Dr. Ágnes Engler, Head of the Center for Education Sciences at KINCS, explained that the family is an unavoidable factor in every social science study. Their research focuses on informal education within the family, institutional education and care, collaboration between families and school, education of family life and family-friendly attitudes in society and the economy, she has added.
