Roma Women, Children, Families-Professional Conference on World Roma Day

The main aim of the conference is to give voice to the old and new responsibles of social inclusion and to create publicity and space for the achievements and future action plans, Sándor Pintér, Minister of Interior highlighted in his welcome speech. He has reported that the inclusion policy since 2010 has led to many successes and advances due to the effective cooperation of the various ministries, the variety of projects launched and the measures taken. He has announced that the respective policy area, the Deputy State Secretary for Social Inclusion, will be transferred to the policy area of Settlement Development of the Ministry of Interior from 1 May 2019. He announced that in the future Miklós Vecsei, vice-president of the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service, will hold the post of Commissioner for Roma Affairs appointed by the Prime Minister. He emphasized that housing, settlement development and the enforcement of the territorial aspects are one of the most important keys to social inclusion.

The audience could hear the contributions of János Székely bishop of Szombathely, Zoltán Balog, present Commissioner for Roma Affairs appointed by the Prime Minister, Katalin Langerné Victor, Deputy Secretary of State for Social Inclusion, Lívia Járóka MEP, Tünde Fűrész, President of KINCS and István Antal, Head of the Research Center for Roma, followed by various good practices of professionals from the field of expertise.
