On November 29, 2018, a Korean family policy delegation has visited the Kopp Maria Institute with the aim to acquaintance themselves in detail with the Hungarian family policy and child welfare system. Our Institute has received the delegation together with the competent field of the Ministry of Human Capacities (EMMI), presenting them the most important elements of Hungarian family policy.
The closing event of the MoveS network series this year was held in Salzburg on November 15-16, 2018, at which an international coordinator of KINCS has participated. The network devotes itself to issues relating to the free movement of workers and social services, is funded by the European Commission, and its members include national experts from Member States.
Katalin Kardosné Gyurkó, president of NOE, had the honour to receive the European Citizen’s Prize given to the National Association of Large Families in Hungary, at the prize ceremony in the building of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, on 21st September 2018.
The conference ‘Towards a Family-Friendly Europe’ was organised by György Hölvényi MEP and the National Association of Large Families (NOE) in the Brussels building of the European Parliament, named after the former Hungarian Prime Minister Antall József.
The National Association of Large Families (NOE) organised the first so-called “EYIFF Plus” Youth Workshop between 20 to 23 September 2018 in Budapest, Hungary. This EYIFF PLUS meeting was the first advanced level of the “European Youth Initiative for Future Families” series. The presentation of Kinga Joó (vice president of NOE and senior international coordinator at Maria Kopp Institute for Demography and Families) dealt with trends in family policies of European countries.
In the West, many people are looking for half-way solutions instead of addressing the real issue: why are not enough children born in Europe? At the conference, besides the host Latvia, representatives of Hungary, Estonia, Finland, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Poland and Lithuania have participated, one of the vice-presidents of the European Parliament, as well as experts who deal with the issue from a scientific point of view.
